And the height is these prices in India cost more than 2 - 3 times from the countries of their origin. Building on your observation, I find in Hyderabad at every 2nd Kilometer there is a Reebook store, always empty, always having more sales boys than actual buyers stocking these shoes in range of Rs 4000 - 10000/ for a pair of shoes, and these 5K monthly salary clerks with their condescending impression when you refuse to buy. Their philosphy is to take their profit from first customer itself. Brand my foot - in this money I can buy 10 pairs of shoes of local brand i.e. change my pair every six months or get shoes of my whole family and gift equal numbers.
Hi philippi999,
Yes ! I agree with you.
In fact I also find in this digital age all these software companies harp a lot about IPRs and copyrights, but conveniently forget when their turn comes. This thing nags me a lot; so much so I had posted two entries Copy Rights IPRs Myths and what not ..... IPRs, Copy Rights Chuck them away .... earlier.
Check these out.

I don't understand what is this fuss about women being allowed in bars in night. On one hand woman wants to compete with man and on other hand you want to be choosy. Crimes happen in all societies, countries whether it is
Thank you all for your feedback and enlightening me about these titles which I would be procuring soon. I find it a bit of task communicating in Hindi using English alphabets and after one or two lines sort of give it up. Still hopeful and waiting for Sulekha to launch this service in Hindi.

Good read. I also feel women's role in the society can be changed by women themselves and a man is not that chauvinists as they are made out to be. It is a tough real world out there. It is just my observation, I may be wrong, but women talk about their women colleagues/relatives in so negative terms and so regularly that one just shudders. In general, I find woman feels happier working under a man than woman in the office. I have felt many times that many women show it as a brand that they they are perennial victims.
Have a look at my entry on the subject - http://mytake.sulekha.com/blog/post/2007/10/no-comaprisons-required.htm
